2025 MaP Training Camp kicks off with top 20 directors embarking on seven-day 'immersive' creative experience

On the evening of July 11th, the MaP Training Camp, hosted by the Yangcheng Evening News Group, officially opened at Guangzhou CTS·Aranya Jiulong Lake. The top 20 finalists of the 2025 "Maritime Guangdong Young Directors Support Program" (hereinafter referred to as the "Maritime Guangdong Program") made their first collective appearance.

This year, the program began accepting submissions on March 17th and ended on June 18th, receiving 632 valid project proposals worldwide (587 approved after review) across feature films, documentaries, experimental films, animations, and cross‑media creations. The top 20 directors were selected to take part in the seven‑day MaP Training Camp, which includes six public film masterclasses, seven creative workshops, 11 screenings, a filmmakers' forum, and an open pitching session.

Zhang Fan, the camp instructor and young producer, commented: "I'm very happy that Yangcheng Evening News Group organizes the Maritime Guangdong Program, which bridges media and films and brings opportunities to young creators."

Zheng Luxinyuan, the camp instructor and young director, shared: "The most beautiful thing about films is that they bring people together. The trainees of the camp are all outstanding. Hopefully, I can help them build more confidence and encourage them to pursue their aspirations."

Shi Yuze, one of the selected directors, described herself as a "Northeastern Chinese who loves Hong Kong films." She revealed that at age 11, she decided to pursue filmmaking after watching Hong Kong films, and added: "This is the closest I've ever been to realizing my dream. Thank you, Maritime Guangdong Program, for giving me this chance." Her shortlisted film "Violent Sneeze" tells the story of a Northeastern Chinese girl's chase for Hong Kong films.

2025山海训练营启程！20强导演开启七日“沉浸式”创作体验

7月11日晚，由羊城晚报报业集团主办的山海训练营正式在广州中旅·阿那亚·九龙湖开营，2025“向山海走去”青年导演创作扶持计划（以下简称山海计划）20强首次集结亮相。

本届山海计划自3月17日起启动征选，至6月18日截止，共收到来自全球的632份有效项目提案，经审核，有效提案为587份，涵盖剧情片、纪录片、实验片、动画及跨媒介创作。从中脱颖而出的20强导演将参与为期七天的山海训练营，活动内容包括6场电影公开课、7场创作工作坊、11场放映、1场影人论坛和1场公开提案大会。

本届训练营导师、青年制片人张凡表示：“非常开心羊城晚报报业集团能举办山海计划这样的项目，让媒体和电影桥接，为年轻创作者带来机会。”

本届训练营导师、青年导演郑陆心源分享：“电影最美好的就是能让人和人相遇。山海训练营的学员们都很优秀，希望我能帮助大家更好地树立信心，鼓励大家做任何想做的事。”

导演石雨泽的自我介绍是“喜欢香港电影的东北人”，11岁时因为香港电影而立下了拍电影的志愿。她分享：“这是离我梦想最近的一次，感谢山海计划给我机会。”其入围作品《通关散》讲述的正是一个东北女孩的香港电影朝圣之旅。
